Lightly raced 10-year-old Sam Brown, trained by A. J. Honeyball and ridden by Aidan Coleman, finished second in the Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock in January, when beaten by Venetia Williams trained 5-2f Royal Pagaille.

2021 Welsh National winner Secret Reprieve, Blaklion, Bristol De Mai, under top weight of 11st 12lbs, and Midlands National winner Time To Get Up are amongst the 11 runners going to post.

Admirel (1.00), trained by Tom Lacey is tipped to win the opening race William Hill Handicap Chase over 2m 3f.

Porticello (1.30) is selected to win the William Hill Juvenile Hurdle over 1m 7f.

Aidan Coleman is up on Olly Murphy trained Thomas Darby (2.05) tipped by fromthehorsesmouth.info to land the Grade 2 Hurdle over 3m.

Harry Skelton saddles 11-year-old Ch’tibello (3.15) under Dan Skelton, carrying 11st 12lbs, tipped each-way in the Pertempts C2 Network Handicap Hurdle over 3 miles.

Henry Daly trained Hillcrest (3.50) steps up in trip under top weight of 11st 5lbs, ridden by Richard Patrick, tipped to win the G2 Albert Bartlett Novice Hurdle over 3 miles.

Paul Nicholls trained Bob And Co (4.25) Champions Hunter winner at Punchestown last season, is tipped to land the Pertempts Network Open Hunters Chase over 2m 6f.

Haydock’s Grand National Trial fixture is noted with small field sizes in British jump racing –  only 48 horses declared for Saturday’s seven-race card despite having £295,000 prize-money up for grabs.
