NEWBURY Saturday – Cloth Cap and Kitty’s Light Newbury G3 Ladbrokes Trophy Chase tilt

Newbury showcases the Grade 3 Ladbrokes Trophy Chase over 3 miles 1 furlong on Saturday with Cloth Cap (3.00) tipped each-way by fromthehorsesmouth.info.

Cloth Cap (12-1) is bidding to become the first back-to-back winner of the race since Arkle in 1965, the Jonjo O’Neill trained ace ridden by Tom Scudamore.

Nicky Henderson trained Epatante is tipped to land the Grade 1 Betfair Fighting Fifth Hurdle over 2m at Newcastle on Saturday, with Aidan Coleman up.

Epatante is out to win The Fighting Fifth back to back, having returned to the winner’s enclosure in 2020, prior to undergoing back surgery in the summer.

Epatante finished third at Punchestown in April in the Grade 1 Paddy Power Champion Hurdle won by Honeysuckle.

FAIRYHOUSE Sunday – Honeysuckle eyes Fairyhouse G1 Hatton’s Grace Hurdle win

Henry De Bromhead trained unbeaten ace seven-year-old Honeysuckle (2.40) heads to Fairyhouse on Sunday in the Grade 1 Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse, over 2m 4f, ridden by Rachael Blackmore.

“She seems in great form after schooling and jumping well. Rachael was happy with her,” said De Bromhead.

Honeysuckle, looking for back to back wins in the Grade 1, last won at Punchestown in April, when landing the Grade 1 Paddy Power Champion Hurdle over 2 miles.

Bromhead trained duo A Plus Tard and Bob Olinger, both winners on November 20, with the former winning the Betfair Chase at Haydock Park, are eyeing Grade 1 races during the Christmas period.

Seven-year-old A Plus Tard is eyeing the Savills Chase at Leopardstown, with Bob Olinger possibly heading to run in the Faugheen Novice Chase at Limerick.

“A Plus Tard is great after coming home. We’re very happy with him and he’s certainly going to the Savills Chase,” said De Bromhead.

De Bromhead is to finalise plans for Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Minella Indo, with entries at Leopardstown and the King George.
