A Plus Tard eyes Haydock Grade 1 Betfair Chase glory

Haydock Park features the Grade 1 Betfair Chase over 3 miles 1 furlong on Saturday on the seven racecard meeting.

Henry De Bromhead trained seven-year-old A Plus Tard, with Rachael Blackmore up, is tipped to win by fromthehorsesmouth.info.

A Plus Tard returns to action after finishing second to stablemate Minella Indo in the Cheltenham Gold Cup at the Festival in March.

Noted runners include Bristol De Mai, vying to equal Kauto Star’s record of four wins in the Grade 1, having been victorious last season.

Royale Pagaille, who finished sixth in the Gold Cup, Waiting Patiently, Clondaw Castle, Caspian Caviar, Chatham Street Lad and Imperial Aura are amongst runners.

Paul Nicholls saddles nine-year-old Next Destination, returning to the fold after finishing second behind Galvin in the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

“He’s a Grade 1 winner over hurdles. If he hadn’t had injuries in the past he probably would have been running in a race like this when he was younger,” said Nicholls.

“We always rated him highly – I think he’ll run very well – we’ve won it six times and we’d love to win it again.

“We’re putting our toe in the water in top-class company and we’re looking forward to the challenge,” said Nicholls.

Nicholls saddles Bravemansgame (1.50) tipped to land the Betfair Graduation Chase over 2m 5f with Harry Cobden up.

Captain Drake (12.40) trained by Harry Fry and ridden by Lorcan Murtagh, claiming 3lbs, is tipped each-way at 10-1 in the C3 Betfair Stayers Handicap Chase over 3m 4f.

Tommy’s Oscar (1.15) with Danny McMenamin up, is tipped each-way (10-1) in the C2 Betfair Handicap Hurdle over 2m 2f.

Fergal O’Brien trained Ask Dillon (2.25) is tipped each-way by fromthehorsesmouth.info at 14-1 in the Grade 3 Betfair Stayers Handicap Hurdle over 3m.

Carrying 11st 7lbs eight years old Ask Dillon has Peter Kavanagh claiming a noted 7lbs in the saddle.

Rightplacerightime is also worthy of each-way support under a light weight of 10st 2lbs.

Christian Williams saddles Potters Corner (3.35) tipped each-way in the C2 Betfair Handicap Chase over 3m 1f with Adam Wedge up.

Philip Hobbs trained eight year old Defi Du Seuil is tipped to land the Grade 2 Chanelle Pharma 1965 Chase over 2m 5f at Ascot on Saturday.

Jeremy Scott trained Dashel Drasher makes his seasonal debut in the Chanelle Pharma 1965 Chase, with jockey Rex Dingle replacing Matt Griffiths sidelined following a car crash.

Grade 1 winner Lostintranslation, trained by Colin Tizzard, also goes to post.
