Saffron Beach trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam and tipped by fromthehorsesmouth.info landed the Group 1 Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes ridden by William Buick at Newmarket on Saturday.
Saffron Beach (5-1) who finished second in the 1,000 Guineas behind Mother Earth in May, gained a 3 lengths victory over the latter, with Dreamloper third.
“It’s lovely to have my frist Group 1 here in Newmarket – I’m thrilled for my team who work so hard,” said delighted Chapple-Hyam.
“I think I’m on my 14th or 15th year training – so it’s about time I had one!,” quipped Chapple-Hyam.
“I just said to William that she’s tough, she loves this track and she’s trained really well in the last month – so I left it to him,” added Chapple-Hyam.
